Since 1957 Milward Funeral & Cremation Service has offered Lexingtonians a choice between two funeral homes -- our downtown site at 159 North Broadway and our suburban site at 391 Southland Drive.
Both funeral homes offer complete facilities for visitation and services. They are designed specifically to help in providing a comfortable and caring setting for family and friends.
391 Southland Drive: Contemporary and Tasteful Recently Renovated and Open for Services

Built in 1957, our second location on Southland Drive is conveniently situated in the area of Lexington's greatest growth at that time.
While its architecture is more contemporary than our downtown site, its interiors reflect the same caring attention to creating an atmosphere of comfort, warmth, and "safe harbor" for the gathering of family and friends for support and remembrance. To make our Southland location even more comfortable for families we serve and their visitors, it was renovated during 2003.
Among the features:
- A main chapel area that seats 200 along with a separate chapel room for family
- Auxiliary rooms for larger gatherings (providing sound from the service)
- State rooms to allow for one very large visitation room or two large visitation rooms with sound-proof doors between rooms
- An organ for live music and a sound system that plays both CDs and cassettes
- Ample parking with plenty of overflow parking available
- Family lounge including a kitchen, serving room, seating area and TV
- Multimedia arrangement office
- Handicap accessible restroom
159 North Broadway: Grace and Tradition

Built in 1905, our multi-level North Broadway funeral home reflects the tradition and sense of grace that many people seek in a funeral home.
From its traditional architecture to its tastefully appointed lobby, staircases and rooms for visitation and services, the funeral home evokes a strong sense of past and present. It is old fashioned in the best sense, offering quiet warmth and room to reflect. It is modern in the best sense as well, with sound and video systems to enhance the funeral service. Among the features:
- A main chapel that holds more than 150 people with a special, separate chapel room for the family
- Auxiliary rooms for gatherings in excess of 200 people
- Closed circuit video capabilities for overflow seating
- An organ for live music and a sound system that plays both CDs and cassettes for those families who prefer recordings of personal importance
- Three visitation/state rooms
- Separate casket/vault and cremation selection rooms
- Ample parking with plenty of overflow parking available
