Carojean Elsey MacDonald

Carojean Elsey MacDonald, 97, of Lexington, Kentucky was called home by the Lord on January 7, 2021.  Born September 24, 1923, she was the daughter of the late E. Everett Elsey and Anna Jean Elsey.  She graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1948 after serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II.  At the time of her death, she was the oldest living UK cheerleader.  A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she was an avid UK fan and enjoyed playing cards, dancing, traveling, bowling, going to the Derby and lying on the beach at Ft. Myers.  She was preceded in death by her late husband, Thomas H. MacDonald, and is survived by two sons, Michael L. MacDonald (Dianne) and Mark T. MacDonald (Marian); four grandchildren, Catherine W. MacDonald, Taylor C. MacDonald (Crimson), Laura M. Sage (Andrew) and Sarah M. Whitely (Caleb); and six great grandchildren.  Funeral and inurnment services will be private.  Memorials are suggested to Christ Church Cathedral or National Christian Foundation Kentucky.
