Michael John Lombard

On Tuesday, January 19, 2021, Michael John Lombard (69) passed away peacefully with his family by his side.  Michael fought a very brave battle against frontotemporal dementia.  He will be greatly missed by many friends and family.

Michael was born on November 17, 1951 to John (deceased) and Jean (Pacekonis) Lombard.  He grew up in East Hartford, Ct. with his parents and sister, Carole Marie.  Michael also had a very close relationship with his cousin Janet (Haiko) Lafforthun.  He enjoyed a long career in the computer technology world which included 20 years at Aetna Life & Casualty followed by many years as a computer systems consultant.  Michael was an avid golfer and loved cars, especially his Camaro.

Michael leaves behind his loving wife, Amy (Lorch) Lombard and 3 wonderful children; Chris Lombard, Abby Lombard, and Zack Lombard.  He also has one very special granddaughter, Hannah Lombard. Known to his friends as “Mike”, he was a faithful member of a 12-step program and was a friend of Bill W’s for 37 years.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Dear Amy, Chris, Abby and Zack I worked with Mike at Aetna in the training area. We worked with a lot of great people and Mike was surely one of them. I am so sorry for your loss. I know that the last couple of years had been difficult for Mike and I’m sure for all of you. He certainly fought hard for a long time. I will always remember Mike has having a great smile and happy greeting! He always had time for students and fellow instructors to help in anyway he could. My sincere condolences to you all, your extended family, and friends. I am not Jewish but like how they refer to people who have passed by saying “may his memory be a blessing”.

Amy, my heart breaks for your loss. I remember Mike in that car hauling your outdoor furniture to my house. So very glad I got to know him before his illness took over. You and your family are in my prayers. Love you.
