Crystal Rogers McCray Holt went home to be with the Lord on April 18, 2021, having lived a full life of 106 years.  She resided in her home until her passing.  She was a wife, mother, businesswoman, a long-term member of Calvary Baptist Church and was loved by all.  Crystal and her late husband supported Habitat for Humanity and enjoyed traveling and square dancing.  She also enjoyed sewing, painting, and collecting dolls.

Crystal was born March 1, 1915 in Powell County, KY.  She was the daughter of James Rogers and Laura Francis (Johnson) Rogers of Jeffersonville, Montgomery County, KY.  She was the last of her eight sisters and brothers.  As a businesswoman she was known for her determined and tenacious spirit and this year survived Covid 19.  As a mother she was loving and firm, always wanting the best for her three children, Vivian Constance (Connie), Norman and Wayne.  As a grandmother "Mamaw" she loved to tell stories of her childhood and riding "Ol' Mollie" in the hills of eastern Ky.

She is survived by her two sons, 8 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.  A memorial service to honor Crystal will be held Thursday, April 22, 2021 at 12:00 pm, Milward-Southland, 391 Southland Dr.  Visitation will follow the service from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm.  We would like to express our tremendous gratitude and love to her caregivers for their loving care.  Donations may be made in memory of Crystal to Calvary Baptist Church of Lexington, KY.

Mrs. Holt was a wonderful neighbor for over 30 years. Our deepest sympathy to all of her family. She is the last of the generation of neighbors that were here when we first arrived. It is so sad when a generation passes. RIP Crystal.
