Jordan Tyler Monthie died at home Thursday, April 22, 2021. He was the beloved brother of Erika Bledsoe (Matt) and Justin Monthie (Amber), who survive him. He leaves behind nieces, Gracie and Charlie Faye; nephew, Henry; maternal grandfather, Al Leonard as well as a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. He was the third child of Jeff and Kim Monthie, who preceded him in death.

Jordan was born in Lexington, KY and was a 2011 graduate of P.L. Dunbar High School. He attended Virginia Military Institute, attaining a double major degree in 2016 in International Politics and Economics which he hoped would lead to work in government service. Most recently he worked at MMI Climate Solutions. He enjoyed playing softball and online gaming and was a coach for girls’ softball. We will miss his warm smile, big hugs and most especially, his big heart.

Visitation is at Milward – Southland located at 391 Southland Drive on Friday, April 30th from 2pm -4pm, immediately followed by a memorial service. A private burial will be held at a later date.

Donations in Jordan’s memory may be made to NAMI Lexington, 498 Georgetown St., Suite 100, Lexington, KY 40508.

I have fond memories of Jordan as a little boy at James Lane Allen Elementary, where I taught music. My heart aches to hear of his passing. I wish your family strength and healing.

Our family is very sorry for the loss of your beloved son. You were kind to give my son Jackson Rowady a ride home for Thanksgiving when he was a “rat” and recovering from knee surgery due to soccer. Jackson appreciated knowing Jordan, a fellow Kentuckian, was at VMI. Your family is in our prayers.
