Glenn Edward Novak, 62, of Lexington, and
husband of Michele Susan Dropik Novak passed away on July 30, 2021. He was born to Jean Hagerty Novak and the
late George Novak on Jan. 19, 1959 in Pittsburgh, PA.
Glenn was a U.S. Army retiree and Desert Storm
veteran who was especially proud of his time served as a member of the 101st
Airborne Division. He attained the rank
of Chief Warrant Officer. During his post-Army
civilian career, he was a logistics planner at the Bluegrass Army Depot.
Glenn was an avid Lexingtonian with a love of
all things Kentucky, including bourbon and Keeneland and was very proud to have
been named a Kentucky Colonel. Although he settled in Lexington, he never
forgot his Pittsburgh roots and remained a loyal Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Glenn
also enjoyed golf, skiing, sightseeing, and hiking. He loved to travel and was
able to see much of the world. Most of
all, he loved spending time with his family.
His family and friends will forever remember Glenn’s loving and spontaneous
nature and his ability to sing and tell the best stories.

he is survived by 7 children, Rachel (Steven Cooper) Novak, Michael Novak, Jennifer
(Benjamin) Karns, Ryan Rega, Marissa (AJ) Mannarino, Benjamin Novak, and

saysI was Glenn’s Team Commander in Germany from 1984-85. He was the smartest, sharpest A&M member in the unit. He was always a delight, always had a can-do spirit, and always came through. He was one of the good guys, and I strongly advised him to become a warrant officer or seek a commission. He was a subject matter expert and a born leader. It’s been 36 years since I’ve seen him, yet he made such a strong impression on me and everyone he met, that it seems like yesterday. My condolences to the family, he was a good man and will be missed. Michele, my deepest condolences. I’ll see if I can dig up some old photos of when we were young and warrior kings, and post them for all to see and honor.
