On Thursday, September 2, 2021, the precious death of Susan Barrett ushered her into the immediate presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
As matriarch of the family, her faithful life was filled with love for others, sacrificial service to all and an abounding, abundant faith that will surpass her years and touch many generations to come. She was constantly interceding for the needs of her family, friends and those whose burdens and concerns reached her ears. Her love permeated her life as a caring and nurturing mother, a joy-filled and cultivating grandmother and a kind and faithful friend.
Susan was born June 1, 1945 in Chicago, Illinois. In 1967 she moved to Miami, Fl and then eventually to Ft. Lauderdale, FL where she taught at Happyland Day School for many years. She loved her life as an educator and continued in that capacity when she moved the family to Lexington, KY. It was in Lexington that she worked for the Family Care Center. Upon retirement, she continued to be an educator and invested her time and love of learning by homeschooling and tutoring her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Susan was an active member of Southland Christian Church where she served in the CUPS ministry and various other ministries.
The joy of Susan’s life was the family God had richly blessed her with. She is preceded in death by her mother Jane Ballard of Cleveland, OH. Susan was survived by her beloved sons and daughter, Lance Radebaugh (Angie) of Lexington, Brian Barrett (Kristi) of Nicholasville and Michelle Ferguson (John) of Richmond, KY. Her “cup runneth over” with 13 grandchildren: Carey, Ambre (Austin), Blake (Johanna), Michael, Amanda, Hannah, Hailey, Holly (John), Gabriel, Eden, Wynn, Joelle, and Nathaniel; and 6 great-grandchildren Carson, Wesley, Addison, Sophia, Alayna, and Asher.
Susan and I became friends while volunteering with the Communion ministry at Southland Christian. She loved everyone and was a humble servant. She will be greatly missed.
Susan was a dear friend and client of mine before I retired from practice in veterinary medicine. She meant a lot to me, and she took great care of her pets, and cared about her friends and family so much. She will be missed greatly.
I was a part of Susan's "Cup" group at Southland Christian Church. Susan added so much to our group and we all loved her dearly. We are all so shocked and saddened by her sudden death; but we know she now has so much peace and joy in the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Susan had such a strong faith and such a strong belief in the power of prayer. She will be sorely missed by all of us "cuppers".

I work with Ms.Susan such a wonderful and awesome lady. She loved her black nail polish and I started using that color. We would talk about how God is so good. Going to miss her. Praying for the family
