Robert Harper Fierstos, 85, passed away at his home surrounded by family on November 11, 2021, following an extended illness.  He was born  August 18, 1936 to Joseph M. and Florence H. Fierstos. Bob married his high school sweetheart, Nancy Davis, on September 16, 1956.

Bob graduated from Canton Lincoln High School in 1954 and Kent State University in 1958.  After graduation, he joined the United States Army and was honorably discharged after six years of service having earned the rank of Sergeant E-5.  Bob then started his career with IBM, and retired in 1987 after rising to the position of Director of Operations - Northern Europe.  After retirement, Bob became an active member of the Lions Club, where he held many offices, including Chairman of the Council of Governors of Kentucky.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Davis Fierstos who passed away on February 18, 2010;and sister and brother-in-law Joyce and John Berea. 

Bob was a proud father, grandfather and great-grandfather.  His survivors include two children Jeanne (Husband-Lynn) Fawcett and Joseph Robert (Wife-Anneliese) Fierstos; grandchildren Daniel (Wife-Lindsey) Fawcett, Erin Fawcett, Nathaniel Robert Fierstos, and Abigail Fierstos; great-grandsons Jack Robert and Benjamin Fawcett; nephews Donald (Wife-Mary Jane) Ebie, Brian (Wife-Mallory) Ebie, Jay (Wife-Jan) Berea; nieces Jill Katz, Joyce (Husband-Tom) Bodeep and Janna (Husband-Glen) Smith.

Bob loved the Lexington community and frequently stated how grateful he was for friends and neighbors.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Bluegrass Care Navigators, Lexington, Kentucky.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 19 at Christ Presbyterian Church in Canton, Ohio at 11:00 AM with visitation starting at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery.
