Billy Glenn Dampier, of Lexington, Kentucky, died on November 11, 2021. He was born in Bourbon County on April 1, 1933 to Lacy and Bessie Purcell Dampier. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joan Marie (Moreland) Dampier. He was also preceded in death by his son Stephen Glenn Dampier. In addition, he was preceded in death by two brothers Alvin Dampier and Walter Dampier and two sisters Elsie Dampier Anderson and Lois Dampier Johnson. He is survived by his daughter Holly Dampier Hodge (Greg) and his grandsons Nicholas and Alexander Hodge. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

He served in the United States Army from 1953 - 1956. As a young man he worked for The Rainbow Bread Company and then for IBM. He and his wife launched Century 21 Dampier Real Estate in 1977. After retiring from IBM, he opened Dampier Property Management. Bill enjoyed long friendships with many tenants and his key tradesmen that assisted him with his business.

He was a devoted husband to his wife of 60 years and was a wonderful father and delighted in being a grandfather to his two grandsons. He loved fishing, growing tomatoes, and hearing a good joke. But, above all, he was a follower of Christ. He and his wife Joan faithfully attended First United Methodist Church in downtown Lexington for many years. His faith led him through his life every step of the way. He was a kind and patient man with a servant's heart.

The family will greet friends from 6:00 - 8:00pm on Monday, November 15, 2021, at Milward's funeral home on Southland Drive, Lexington, Kentucky. Visitation will begin again at 1:00pm on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 followed by a service of remembrance at 2:00pm. A graveside committal service will immediately follow at The Lexington Cemetery.
