Ralph E.
Burton, 98, widower of Jane Pridemore Burton, passed away Wednesday, May 4,
2022. He was born in Paris, Bourbon County, Kentucky to the late Frank and
Nettie (Lancaster) Burton January 22, 1924.
Ralph was a
graduate of Paris High School and the University of Kentucky. He served in WWII
as a navigator on B-25 bombers in the Pacific Theater. He retired from the
former Kentucky Cabinet for Human Resources. Ralph also served as past Business
Supervisor for the Paris TB Hospital, Administrator of the Glasgow TB Hospital
and Fiscal Officer at Eastern State Hospital in Lexington.
Ralph is
survived by his sons, Robert (Dia Nell) Burton of Lexington, KY and Stephen
Burton of Greenville, NC as well as 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren,
and 4 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Jane, Ralph was
preceded in death by his daughter, Betty Jo.
Visitation
will be Monday, May 9th from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Milward –
Broadway located at 159 N. Broadway. Service will begin at 12:00 pm with Pastor
Mike Powers from First United Methodist presiding. Interment with military
honors will follow in Paris Cemetery.
