Marie Otelia Haithcox passed away peacefully at her home on April 30. Born to Eric and Ashley Haithcox on Feb. 14, 2015, in Glasgow, KY, she was a sweetheart to everyone she met. Marie was a first grader at Yates Elementary School and a faithful member of the congregation of Liberty Road Faith Fellowship where she enjoyed playing the organ. As a child who learned to read early, Marie loved her many books. She enjoyed singing, playing outdoors doing arts and crafts, and watching Peppa Pig.

In addition to her parents, Marie is survived by her great-grandparents, Bob and Christie of Portage, MI, Ruby Capps of Tompkinsville, KY; grandparents Kimm and Kent Youdell of both Lexington, KY and South Bend, IN, Eric and Joy Haithcox, Sr. of Tompkinsville, KY, and Teresa Muse, also of Tompkinsville; great aunt, Emily Christie, several great-aunts, great-great aunts and uncles, and five cousins, as well has her beloved cats, her fan club at Yates Elementary School, and her devoted church family.

A Celebration of Life Service will take place at Liberty Road Faith Fellowship, 2734 Liberty Road in Lexington, at 11:00am on Saturday, May 14, with Rev. Lisa Wood officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30am until time of service. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Ronald McDonald House of Lexington, the University of Kentucky Children’s Hospital (in Lexington), or to the Liberty Road Faith Fellowship. Kim and Emily, thank you for allowing us to spend such good time with Marie. She was such an asset to our congregation - her bouncing into the sanctuary on Sunday mornings brought smiles to our faces - her joy in playing the organ was contagious- her costumes and hats brightened our days. We have all observed the devotion and care you have given her. Blessings on you in the days to come.
