Harvey L. Spencer, 85, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2022 in Lexington. Harvey was born in Nicholas County, Kentucky to the late John and Quintilla (Mynear) Spencer on August 31, 1936.


 

Harvey wed Esther Hulett on April 27, 1963. Together, they celebrated 57 years of marriage. He was a current member of Gardenside Christian Church. Harvey owned and operated his own plumbing and HVAC business since 1977.  He enjoyed fishing as well as shooting pool.  He loved his family immensely and enjoyed every day he could with them.  He proclaimed the gospel and shared his testimony every chance he got.  He served his church as a Deacon and an Elder.  Numerous foster children came through Harvey and Esther’s household over the years. 


 

Left to cherish his memory is Harvey’s loving wife, Esther; son, Timothy Spencer (Leila); daughter, Lisa Tipton; grandchildren, Joshua, Marissa (Mara), Nathaniel, Calista, and Cameron; sisters, Rose Purcell and Bonnie Spencer, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Harvey was preceded in death by his brothers, John and Frank Spencer and sisters, Martha Bess and Jackie Edwards.


 

Visitation for Mr. Spencer will be from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, Tuesday, June 21st at Milward – Man O’War located at 1509 Trent Blvd. Service will begin at 11:00 am with interment to follow in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens in Nicholasville.
