Mary Helen (Eichler) Hoffmann, 97, wife of the late Herman J. Hoffmann,
died Saturday, June 18, 2022 in Winchester, KY, surrounded by family and
friends. Born March 5, 1925 in
Louisville, KY, she was the daughter of the late Anthony Eichler and Ernestine Craycroft.
She graduated from Presentation High School in 1943 and went on to marry Herman
in 1947. Helen could always be found supporting her two sons at their baseball
games. She was also greatly involved in the raising of all her grandchildren,
and loved to spend time with them playing games and cooking delicious meals. Helen
loved a good laugh, spending time with her family with a fancy cocktail or two,
and - perhaps more than anything else - her furred family members: any and all
dogs. Helen attended Mary Queen of The Holy Rosary Catholic Church and
volunteered her time at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington.
She is survived by two sons, Joseph Keith (Deborah) Hoffmann,
of Lexington, and Christopher Wayne (Tamara) Hoffmann, of Winchester; five
grandchildren, Jenny Claire Hoffmann, of New Albany, IN, Zachary Aaron Hoffmann
(Tiffany), of Baltimore, MD, Mary Theresa Hoffmann (Kurt), of Lexington, and Andrew
Joseph Hoffmann, of Lexington; five great-grandsons one great-granddaughter; and a sister, Rowena Adams.
Mrs. Hoffmann was preceded in death by two
brothers, Joseph Eichler and Anthony Eichler Jr., a sister, Rosie Turner, and a
granddaughter, Megan Lynn Hoffmann.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 23, 2022 from 6-8pm at
Milward-Southland. Mass of Christian
Burial will be Friday, June 24, 2022 at 10am at Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary.
Burial will follow at Blue Grass Memorial Gardens.
