Barbara Janice Johnson
Wednesday 22nd of September 1937 - Friday 29th of July 2022

Barbara Janice Johnson, 84 and loving wife of
William Lewis “Bill” Johnson, Jr. passed away on July 29, 2022. She was born to
the late Cecil Braden and Lotus Douglass Braden on September 22, 1937, in
Louisville. She was a member of Christ Church United Methodist in Louisville
for over forty years.
Barbara survived
polio during her teen years and went on to graduate from Manual High School (’55)
and to earn a B.S.N. from Murray State. (’59). She was an able, caring nurse
for several years and became a homemaker full-time after she and Bill married,
in 1964.
She was an avid
reader and phenomenal seamstress who placed her family above all else.
In addition to her
husband of 57 years, Barbara is survived by their three sons, Keith (Peggy),
Kevin (Jennifer), and Kelly (Eunice) Johnson; two siblings, Susan Brindle and Doug
(Shirley) Braden; and five grandchildren, Braden (Brenna Kaelin), Allyson,
JonMarie, Meredith, and Will Johnson.
A private ceremony
will be held at Lexington Cemetery.
