Thomas (Tom) Guy Fath passed away on July 29, 2022.  He was born on July 15, 1931 in Cincinnati, OH to Harry and Claire Fath.  Tom graduated from St. Xiaver High School and the University of Cincinnati; he was a first lieutenant in the army for two years.  Then he began his audit career at US Steel and then worked for Square D (Schneider Electric) as their Director of Internal auditing when he retired.  


Tom was married 66 years to the love of his life, Lee (who preceded him in death in 2020).  Together they had seven children who survived him, they are:  Tom (Ann) Fath, Tim (Beth) Fath, Greg Fath, Doug (Erin) Fath, Cathy (Romy) Corales, Bill Fath, and Jim (Remiz) Fath.  He is also survived by ten grandchildren:  Farah (Phil) Galfond, Victoria (Julian) Giroux, Clara Fath, Harris Milgrim, Katelyn (Doug) Dauer, Kelly Corales, Austin, Lucy, Emerson, and Emma Fath plus three great grandchildren, Lola & Cher Giroux, and Spencer Galfond.   Tom was also survived by his siblings, Joanne Niehaus, Paul (Susan) Fath, Harry (Linda) Fath, Jr., Carolyn (Mike) Dowling, and Mary Claire (Rob) Green.


Tom had a strong Catholic faith.  He was an active member of Christ the King, where he served on the Liturgy Committee, participated in bible study, and attended daily mass.  He also facilitated the bible study at the Federal Medical Center and wrote a monthly newsletter (Faith Gazette).  Tom was also a member of the Sierra Club.  He also gave generously to several charities:  Feed the Poor, Renewal Ministries, Gift of Water, and Hope for Haiti.  Tom’s hobbies were sports and travel.  He was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Reds, the UK Wildcats and loved his UC Bearcats.  Tom traveled to over 20 countries while working at Square D.  and continued traveling after his retirement.  


Visitation will be at Milward-Southland, 391 Southland Dr. on Sun., Aug. 7, 2022, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.  Tom’s funeral mass is Mon., Aug. 8, 2022, at 10 am at Cathedral of Christ the King.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cathedral of Christ the King, 299 Colony Blvd., Lexington, KY  40502, or the Sanders-Brown Center for Aging, 2199 Harrodsburg Rd., Lexington, KY  40504.  www.milwardfuneral.com
