Sherrill Francene (Fran) Marx, age 87, passed away
peacefully on the morning of July 30, 2022, in her home and under the loving
care of immediate family members. She was preceded in death by her husband of
over 60 years, Eddie L. Marx; her parents, Boone B. and Faye Jarie Patterson;
her sister, Bernice Moore Whaley Patterson; and her brother Melvin Eugene
Patterson. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Steven
Krawczyk.
Sherrill was born May 21, 1935. Her main passion in
life was caring for her family and home. She enjoyed sewing, crochet, knitting,
learning new cooking techniques, and experimenting with new recipes. Her
personality was a unique blend of "old school" values, a high level
of intellectual curiosity, love of nature, and devotion to family and friends.
She tirelessly pursued perfection in all she did. She held herself to a higher
standard than anyone else. She was a happy butterfly, very independent, and a
fierce protector. Her special outlook on life will be missed by many she
touched, however briefly, over the years.
She retired from the USAMC Materiel Readiness Support
Activity, Lexington Army Depot on September 2, 1990. Some of her prior
occupations included tax preparer for H&R Block, and secretarial work for
various construction firms as well as Tinker Air Force Base. Special people
that gave her comfort and assistance over the years were: Dr. Barry Purdom,
along with Brenda, Susan, and Shirley, and Attorney Gary Rohrer.
