Sunday 12th of June 1932 - Saturday 9th of March 2019
Linda Reyes, 86, wife of Richard Reyes, went to be with her Savior on March 9, 2019. Linda and Dick met and married in Nashville, Tenn., and Dick always said he traveled halfway around the world to find his beautiful Southern belle. After Dick served in the U.S. military, they settled in Lexington in 1957, where Dick began his career with IBM. Linda was the consummate wife, mother, aunt and grandmother, always volunteering to help with her daughters’ school and church events and never missing a music performance or sports event in which her children or grandchildren were participating. Linda’s Christian faith was an important part of her life and she and Dick were charter members of Southern Hills United Methodist Church, where she remained an active member of her church circle and was a long-time, regular participant of the Vitality exercise class. Linda was a warm and gracious friend to all who knew her, and she and Dick had a wide circle of friends with whom they enjoyed traveling, boating and playing bridge.
In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by daughters Karen (David) Baird and Kimberly (Jim) Burns, both of Lexington, and grandchildren Adam (Grace) Baird, Bowling Green; Lauren Baird, Lexington; Meredith Burns, Los Angeles; and Aaron Burns, Lexington.
Visitation will be held at Southern Hills United Methodist Church on Tuesday, March 12 from 5:30-7:30 PM and from 12:30-2:00 on Wednesday, March 13, followed by the service at 2:00. Burial will take place at Bluegrass Memorial Gardens immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Southern Hills United Methodist Church, 2356 Harrodsburg Road, Lexington, KY 40503, or Wesley Village, 1125 Lexington Road, Wilmore, KY 40390.
Dear Dick, Kim and Karen and family, I was so sorry to read of Linda's passing. What a gracious woman of faith she was . . . and so much fun. She was always so sweet to me as the "tag-along" with Clayton and Juanita. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Cathy Griffith, Lynchburg, OH

We are all so sad to hear of Linda’s passing and so suddenly. Steve and Carol and I won’t be able to be there but our hearts certainly will be. Linda was always a joy to be around but I’m sure we don’t need to tell you that. Dick, my heart especially goes out to you but you will surely spend eternity with her and oh, how joyful that will be. When baby Jenny passed away, this scripture gave me much comfort. Revelation 21:4 “and he shall wipe away every tear from their eyes; and death shall be no more; neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain, any more: the first things are passed away.” Love to all from Carol, Nancy and Steve 💐
