Ron G. Atkins, 87, of Lexington, died March 12, 2023 at Central Baptist Hospital. He was a graduate of University High School and the University of Kentucky, where he played varsity tennis and was a member of Phi Delta Theta. He was the son of Jean Geddes Slagel and Marvin Atkins. He was an Army veteran and the founder of Allsports.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie (nee Lawson), two sons, Blaine (Michele) and Todd; a daughter, Lissa; half brother, Brad Slagel; half sister, Tillie Anne Barker, two grandchildren, Chloe and Chandler; and brother-in-law, John Lawson. He was predeceased by a half brother, Edward Slagel.
Visitation, Friday, Mar. 17, 2023, 2:30-5:00 pm with service at 5:00 pm, Milward-Man O' War, 1509 Trent Blvd. Burial will be at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to God’s Pantry.
