Mary E. "Libby" Robinson
Friday 19th of April 1946 - Wednesday 8th of March 2023

Mary
Robinson, age 76, of Lexington, passed away unexpectedly due to health
complications at her home on March 8, 2023.
Mary
was born in Fayette County, Kentucky on April 19, 1946, the daughter of Clovis
and Ruth Robinson. She grew up in Fayette County, graduating from Lafayette
High School and attending the University of Kentucky. She worked for a number
of insurance companies in an administrative capacity and lived in a number of
cities, making friends wherever she went.
After
retiring from her last position while living in the Philadelphia area, she
returned to Lexington to look after her mother, Ruth Robinson. She attended to
her mom’s needs unselfishly and enjoyed visiting her at both Ashland Terrace
and the Willows at Fritz Farm, often befriending other residents.
Mary
was on the quiet side but friendly and cheerful. You could always count on her
as a family member and friend. She rarely had a bad thing to say about anyone.
She loved music and to go dancing until she suffered an injury later in life
and stayed up on current events and UK sports. Family and friends will dearly
miss her.
Her
beloved parents, Clovis and Ruth Robinson, predeceased Mary. She is survived by
her brother, David Robinson and sister-in-law, Anne Robinson of Sarasota,
Florida; niece, Jessica Ruth Robinson Hauser and husband Kelley Hauser; grandniece,
Rosalie Ruth Hauser, and grandnephew, Robinson Gus Hauser, all of Cohasset,
Massachusetts. Her cousins, Marnia Robinson of Ashland, Oregon and Jana Carella
of Jacksonville, Florida, also survive her.
The
burial service for Mary will be private for family members, with a remembrance
event scheduled at a future time.
Please
consider directing memorial donations to Ashland Terrace (www.ashland
terrace.org).

saysI was really sorry to read of Libby's passing. Libby and I became very close friends while attending UK. Libby graduated from Lafayette a couple years before me. We shared a lot of happy times together. Libby was a bridesmaid in my wedding in 1967, and she looked absolutely beautiful. After our wedding, Libby moved to Louisville, but stayed in touch for many years. The last time I saw her was at the calling for her Dad at Milwards on Southland Drive. Libby was a really sweet girl.
