Peggy Ann Kersey, 85, passed away
peacefully on May 17, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on
October 9th, 1937, in Winchester Ky to Charles Waller Sr. and Nell Higgins
Waller. Peggy was a graduate of Henry Clay High School and she went on to work
for the phone company and Fayette County Public Schools.
Peggy was a devoted family person who cared deeply for her loved ones. She was
a selfless caregiver, always putting the needs of others before her own. Peggy
was known for her kind and loving nature, and she never met a stranger. She was
a woman of faith and enjoyed her daily bible studies and cherished spending
time with her loved ones.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Johnson (Donald), son, Michael Kersey
(Angela), brother, Charles Waller Jr (Jane), brother David Waller. She also
leaves behind four beloved grandchildren, Chris, Brian, Gabriel, and Mykayla,
and three great-granddaughters, Hannah, Kaela, and Kasey. Also special friend
Audrey Kersey.
Peggy was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, John Kersey Jr, father
Charles Waller Sr., mother Nell Waller, brother James Waller, brother Gary
Waller, sister Barbara Vanmeter, grandson Bradley Johnson, and granddaughter
Melissa Johnson.
Visitation for Peggy will be held on Thursday, May 25, from 2-4 pm at Milward
Funeral Home located at 1509 Trent Blvd. Lexington Ky 40515. The service will
commence at 4 pm with Bruce Carpenter officiating. While flowers are welcome,
another way to memorialize Peggy would be to spend time with a shut in,
visiting a nursing home or volunteering your time to serve others.
The family is grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this
difficult time. Peggy Ann Kersey will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving
mother, and cherished friend. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
