LaVaughn D. Brown
Sunday 13th of August 1961 - Sunday 5th of May 2019
LaVaughn D. Brown was born August 13, 1961 to the late Lawrence R. Brown and Loretta Young Brown in Pittsburgh, Pa. “Vaughn,” as she was affectionately known by her family, departed this life on May 5, 2019. LaVaughn loved to sing and shared her gift in song in the Beulah Baptist Church Choir, where she received Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. LaVaughn’s beautiful voice lead her to sing in the Beltzhoover Community Youth Choir and at many other festive family occasions.
LaVaughn graduated from South Hills High School in 1979 and continued her formal education at Kentucky State University in Frankfort, KY. LaVaughn began her career as an independent contractor more than twenty years ago and mastered the art of telecommunication. She worked as a corporate travel supervisor with Agencia via Working Solutions for over 15 years and as a ticketing agent for Direct Travel. LaVaughn had a passion for horse racing and never missed an opportunity to share her love and knowledge of the sport with those she loved. The Kentucky Derby was a special day that she shared with her brothers, laughing and obviously talking about what they could have done differently. LaVaughn’s favorite horse was California Chrome. We loved to hear her talk about the horses features, attitude and the look in their eyes. Most of all, LaVaughn loved to be with her family and adored her nieces and nephews. LaVaughn was proceeded in death by her father, Lawrence Brown and her great-nephew, Jamel Brown.
She will be greatly missed by her friends and family alike. LaVaughn leaves behind to cherish her memory, her mother, Loretta; brothers, Bernard(Bonnie) Brown and Terence(Nanita) Brown; sister Lynette(Steve) Miller; nieces and nephews, Patrice Brown, Reid Brown, Crystol King, Jordan Brandon, Alicia Brown, Taylor Brown, Veronica Brown, Kirstin Brown, and Kyan Miller; great-nieces and nephews, Jasia, Andrae, Kaydence and Victoria, and a very special friend from Louisiana, Kenneth Wilson.
Milward Funeral Directors are entrusted with LaVaughn’s arrangements. Family will receive friends on Friday, May 10th from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm at the Main Street Baptist Church located at 582 W. Main Street, Lexington followed by funeral service at 12:00 pm with Pastor Victor Sholar presiding. Interment will take place in Lexington Cemetery after service.

It is with heavy heart to hear of her passing. I had spoke with her the prior day and seeing this was so unexpected. May she find peace.

I am truly sorry for your loss, I didn't know her personally but she was a part of our Work at Home Community with Working Solutions, so she was family. Take comfort in the promise at Revelation 21:3,4 and look forward to the day when there will be Life without end at last!
I am truly sorry for the sudden loss of your dear loved one LaVaughn. We truly look forward to a time.. very soon when God’s promise of a time when “Death will be no more, neither will mourning, nor outcry nor pain be anymore” because the former things will have passed away. (Revelation 21:3,4)
My prayers are with you and family. You will be missed.

We grew up together in Beltzhoover, sang together for years. I spent many days in LaVaughns room sharing her Mom's tuna salad. I've missed your entire family and I am praying for you during this time. Sending Love and God's blessings.
