William "Bill" Douglas Smith, 83, of Lexington, KY passed away on July 1, 2019 at his residence.  He was the husband of Lois Clayton Smith.  Bill was born in Carlisle, Nicholas Co., KY to the late Sterling and Bessie Smith on September 25, 1935.  He served in the US Air Force for 8 1/2 years from 1954 - 1963.  He owned a franchise of Dillon Tax Service in Versailles, KY.  He was a member of Hill-N-Dale Christian Church.  Bill was known for his ham and beer cheese.
He is survived by 2 sons, Kim (Christina) Smith and David (Joanna) Smith; 2 daughters, Wanda (Damien) Smith and Janna (Dan) Sedgwick; 2 brothers, Donald (Faith) Smith and J.D. (Vickie) Smith; sisters-in-law, Sandy Smith, Linda (Ted) McGray, and Margaret Clayton; gandchildren, Jamie (D.J.) Jenkins, Jason (Jamie) Smith, Whitney Smith, Jessica (Nathan) Guyton, Kendra (Glenn) Wilson, Ashley Smith, and Taylor Cutler; and  great-grandchildren, Dakota, Faith,  & Trey Jenkins, Kassidy & Olivia Smith, Logan & Caylie Smith, Brantley & Gunner Hobbs, Autumn Wilson,  & Milo Miller.  

He was preceded in death by brother, Bobby Smith; and a grandson, Joseph Price.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 5, 2019, 11:30 AM, Milward-Southland.  Interment will follow the service at Hillcrest Memorial Park.  Visitation will be Thursday, July 4, 2019, 5-8 PM, Milward-Southland.

The family respectfully requests  no flowers or gifts.  In lieu of flowers and gifts, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of William D. "Bill" Smith.
