Tony Alan Girvin, 65, passed away in Lexington in the early morning of Saturday, July 20, 2019. He was born to the late Bobby Glen and Ora Mae (Williams) Girvin on April 28, 1954 in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

He studied Applied Science at the University of Kentucky and started a twenty-eight year long career as a field engineer installing and repairing medical equipment. He was a dedicated and passionate employee who could never run out of kind and interested words about his work and colleagues. His colleagues at BC Technical/Alpha Source will surely miss him as well.

Tony was a kind, loving, and dependable man having integrity in business and in family life. He loved the Beatles and had a passion for cars. He was a big kid at heart, enjoyed joking around, and never knew a stranger. He liked spending time with his family, playing games, and watching movies.

Those left to cherish Tony’s memory are his loving wife of 24 years, Betty Lou Girvin; children, Bobby Girvin, Benjamin (Danielle) Girvin, Jessica Sanders, Joshua Sanders, and Jeanette (Elliott) Richards; grandchildren, Tyler, Kaylee, Maximus, and Emerson; sister, Angela (Duane) Dukes and brother, Barry (Brenda) Girvin. In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by his sister, Vicki Lee Girvin.

Milward Funeral Directors are entrusted with Tony’s arrangements. Family will receive friends for visitation from 1:00 pm until funeral mass at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, July 24th at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church located at 1730 Summerhill Drive, Lexington with Fr. Danny Schwendeman presiding.
