Our deepest sympathies to Richard's family. My father, Pete Vislay, was a shipmate of Richard's on the LST-621 during WW II. I met and got to know and respect Richard from several of the ship reunions I attended with my Dad, and several additional reunions after my Dad passed away. He will truly be missed and truly represented what it means to be a "Southern Gentleman". May God be with the entire family.
