Jack Morris
Matney, 90, of Lexington passed away August 17, 2019. He was born to the late
Henry Matney and Narcissis “Ted” Ramey Matney on September 24, 1928 in the
community of Praise, Kentucky (Pike County). Jack served in the Air Force in the Korean
War. He was a member of American Legion Post 8 of Lexington.
In addition
to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by six brothers, Bob, Ervin, James (Chick),
Joel, Wille, and Dewey Matney; four sisters, Mona Kerr, Clara Ramey, Joyce Belcher,
and Mary Bramham.
Survivors
include his sister Nell (Ocil) Slone; his brother Bob's wife Betty; and his companion and caregiver Patricia
Holt and Patricia’s daughter Carla Holt (Rick White).
His
graveside service will take place on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at 12:30 p.m. at
Camp Nelson National Cemetery, in Nicholasville.
In lieu of
flowers, contributions may be made to: the Alzheimer’s Association or Woodstock
Spay and Neuter Clinc.
