Jerry Alvin Turner, born July 10, 1931 in Kildav (Harlan County), KY passed on to his heavenly home on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at the age of 88 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington with family at his side.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Turner and Dora Broughton Turner, as well as his brother, Neil Turner.
Husband of over 61 years to Peggy Lee Clark Turner and father of Charles “Chuck” (Susan), Doug (Karyn), Terry (Vickie) Turner, and Mary (Bob) Henry. He was a proud grandfather of Kimberly, Grant, Matthew, Kendall, Brittany, Ashlee, Alan, Bethany, and Katy. He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren and numerous other special relatives and friends.
Jerry Turner will be fondly remembered as a loving father, U.S. Navy veteran, teacher, tool and die maker, and member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
His visitation will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2019 from 6pm until 8pm at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 1108 Keen South Elkhorn, Nicholasville, KY 40356. The funeral will occur on Friday, September 13, 2019 at 11am, also at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Lexington.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church of Nicholasville.
I am so sorry to learn of the passing of Jerry. He was always so kind, and very patient with my inquisitive boys when we would come to the house. My prayers & thought are with you during this difficult time & in the days to follow. Pat Taulbee

Chuck, Susan, Peggy & Family: So sorry on Jerry's passing to his heavenly home. Know you all will miss him, but he will be on a new journey in a new body and no pain. God is good and he looks after our needs. We so enjoyed talking about his days living down in the mnts, not too far from Red Bird. He was a very special man of God.
