Thomas B. Tackett, 89, passed away in the late evening of Monday, October 7, 2019 while surrounded by his family. Thomas was born to the late Thomas Albert and Mary Julia (Ravencraft) Tackett on August 7, 1930 in Boyd County, Kentucky.
Thomas wed Betty Stevens on December 25, 1951. Together, they celebrated 67 years of marriage. He also served his country proudly in the United States Air Force from 1950 – 1954.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Betty; sons, Steven Thomas (Karen) Tackett of Winchester, KY and John Collins (Ginny) Tackett of Pekin, IN; grandchildren, Christian Thomas (Cyndie) Tackett, Abigail Marie (Christopher) Allan, Alexandria (Brandon) Tackett Sones, Westray Steven (Jess) Tackett, Nathan (Kate) McCutcheon, Neil McCutcheon, Nick (Stevie) McCutcheon, and great-grandchildren, Thomas Bronson Tackett, Sydney Noelle Tackett, Felix Pearl Allan, Bohannon Collins Sones, and Gretta, Emma, Ella, Aiden, and Micah McCutcheon. In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his daughter, Cynthia Katherine Tackett and brother, John Wheeler Tackett.
Family will receive friends for visitation from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm, Monday, October 14th at Milward – Man O’War located at 1509 Trent Blvd., Lexington. Funeral service will commence the following day on Tuesday, October 15th at 12:00 pm followed by committal with military honors in Camp Nelson National Cemetery at 2:30 pm.
