Pamela Stakelin Fernand, wife of Rick, mom of Tony and T.J. passed away on Monday, January 6, 2020. She was the devoted daughter of the late Herman A. Stakelin and Geneva Cannon Stakelin Lewis and Nora Barnes Stakelin.  She was also the granddaughter of the late Birdie Leonard & Ernest Cannon.


She was a native of Fayette County and a 1967 graduate of Bryan Station High School.  She earned her bachelor and master’s degrees from the University of Kentucky.  She retired in June of 1998 after 26 years of service to the Veterans Administration Medical Center.  She was also employed by Fayette County Schools as a substitute teacher, from 2000 until 2004.


The visitation will take place on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Milward-Man O’ War.  The funeral will occur on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at 12:30 p.m., also at Milward-Man O’ War.  The burial will take place on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at Camp Nelson National Cemetery.


In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
