Kathey Jo Begley, 64, passed away peacefully in the late evening of February 2, 2020 while surrounded by her family. Kathey was born in Covington, Kentucky on February 25, 1955 to the late John Marion and Dorothy (Simpson) Long.

Kathey worked as a personal caregiver and CNA for the local VA Hospital and Tanbark Health Care and Rehab for many years. In 1999, she was wed to Vernon Begley and celebrated 20 years of marriage until her passing. Kathey enjoyed Elvis and Motown music and was known for her chicken and dumplings and peanut butter pie. Most of all, she adored her family and loved to spend time with them. Kathey was a dedicated mother, wife, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her giving spirit will be missed, but will never leave the hearts of those who loved her.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Vernon; children, Derrick (Kelsey) Harrison, Crystal (Christopher) Gibson, Carrie Barnett, and step-son, Jason (Heather) Begley, fifteen grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. Kathey also leaves behind her beloved dog of 15 years, Smitty.

Family will receive friends for visitation from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Friday, February 7th at Milward-Man O'War located at 1509 Trent Blvd. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 8th with visitation one hour prior at the funeral home with Mickey Hyder officiating.
