Jewell A. Brown, 66, of Lexington, Kentucky, passed away December 15, 2018, at her residence. She was born to the late Clyde W. Diehl and Jewell (Sanders) Carpenter, May 24, 1952, in Seymour, Indiana. Jewell was wed to Robert A. Brown in 1979, and together they celebrated 33 years of marriage until his passing in 2012.Jewell was a former member of Greater New Hope Christian Center and an honorary member of Remnant Community Church. She loved crafting quilts and made them for her children and grandchildren through the years. Like her quilts, she blanketed her family with caregiving, love, and endless dedication. She worked briefly as an aid at Cardinal Hill in Lexington where she nurtured her caregiver role. She was always happy and made everyone around her smile with her infectious giggle. She also enjoyed watching forensic programs. At one time she expressed that if she had the opportunity, she would have pursued a career as a forensic anthropologist. Reflecting upon her talents, creativity, and interests, Jewell’s spirit will always remain strong with all who loved her and had the honor of knowing her. Jewell is survived by four children, Timothy (Sheryl) Conner of Sandusky, OH, Melissa (Brian) Tevis of Lexington KY, Joshua (Daisy) Brown, and Jeremiah Brown of Lexington KY; grandchildren, Gabriel, Emily, Hailey (Tim) Ethan, and Brayden (Melissa), Porscha, Victorie Josiah (Josh), Ja’Mya, Jeremiah, Kai’lea (Jeremiah) as well as her special friend, Richard Currey. In addition to her parents, Jewell was predeceased by her loving husband Robert Brown. Family will receive friends on Thursday, December 18, 2018 from 10 am - 12 pm at Milward - Man O’War located at 1509 Trent Blvd., Lexington KY. Funeral service will commence at 12 pm following visitation with Pastor Daisy Brown officiating. Interment will take place at 3:00 p.m. at the Wallingford Cemetery in Fleming County, Kentucky.
