Ronald C. Bricking

Ronald Clifford Bricking, 77, of Georgetown, KY, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2020 after a courageous battle with dementia. He was born October 22, 1942 in Covington, KY, he was the son of the late Clifford and Geraldine Bricking.
Ron attained the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America in 1960 and graduated from New Port Catholic High School in 1961.
After graduating he had the honor of joining the United States Marine Corps. 1961- 1965. While in the Marine
Corps he served with both the First Marine Division FMF and the Third Marine Division.
Ron then went on to marry and have three children, Kim, Chris and Cory.
Ron worked as a systems analyst and went back to school as a non-traditional student, where he would graduate from Lindsey Wilson College with a degree in Computer Programming in 1990.
After retiring in 1993 from Matsushita (Whirlpool) in Danville, KY, Ron found joy in volunteering with various veteran groups. He served the 1st Marine Division Association, the VFW at post 3634, the American Legion post 46 and American Legion post 301, American Legion 8th district. Ron continued serving his fellow Marines in the Marine Corps League while holding various positions culminating in being named the Department Commandant for the Commonwealth of Kentucky. He was also a Pedigree Devil Dog in the Military Order of the Devil Dogs.
Ron also continued to serve the Boy Scouts of America in various roles throughout the years helping many young men follow the path that he had so many years earlier.
Ron’s favorite role he served was being “Popper” to his 5 grandchildren and numerous grand-puppies. He loved spending time at family functions, hanging out with his grandchildren after school and even taking them camping and traveling.
He is survived by his three children, Kim (Chris) Weckman of Georgetown, KY, Chris (Tina) Bricking of Versailles, KY, and Cory (Jennifer) Bricking of Lexington, KY; and his five grandchildren, Kyrsten (Tyler) Adkins, Keegan (Lizzie) Weckman, Ashton Combs, Dakota Bricking and Conner Bricking: his siblings, Harry (Judy) Bricking of Sharonville, OH, Shirley (Tom) Carper of Crescent Springs, KY, Adeline (Bill) Reeves of Township, OH, Terry (Julie) Bricking of Villa Hills, KY, and Danny (Dru) Bricking of Bellevue, KY.

I am sorry for your loss of Ron. We were colleagues from Whirlpool and Matsushita. Ron was a great person and a friend to me and many others in Danville.
