Frances Alberta Beam Clements, age 85, of Lexington passed away on June 24 in Lexington.Frances was born in Louisville Kentucky to Everett and Alberta Beam on December 12, 1934. Frances went to school at Lebanon High School in Lebanon, Pennsylvania. She married Frederick Anthony Clements on September 17,1955 in Bardstown, Ky. at the Saint Joseph Basilica Cathedral. Fred and Frances have been married almost 65 years and almost anyone whom had a chance to know the couple would have to say they were made for each other. They had the secret ingredient to living harmoniously with one another, most unlike couples today.
Frances worked in the payroll department for many years at Barton’s Distillery in Bardstown before she was married. Soon after marrying Fred, she had six children in seven years and became quite busy and a wonderful stay at home Mom. Frances was always involved with the children’s school activities, such as sports and homeroom mom and especially Lafayette Band parent. Besides being busy with her children. Frances found time to be Eucharistic minister, at the Newman Center church, where she belonged at the time. She delivered Holy communion for years to the people who most needed it at the UK hospital. Also, Frances sold Avon for years, not making much money, but always looking forward to seeing her customers and vice versa. Frances had many friends, loved to read books, and one of her hobbies earlier on in her life was refinishing antiques. Many of her beautiful pieces she refinished make her home so beautiful today.
Frances volunteered at the University of Ky.Hospital delivering mail to the entire hospital once a week for twenty five years. They honored her and others at a special reception with a gift/pin for their very high and honorable dedication to the hospital in volunteerism and length of service. She was always very proud of this accomplishment as she should have been and even went back to visit the people she had worked/volunteered with occasionally.
Frances is preceded in death by her parents Everett and Alberta Beam, her brother Charlie Beam from Louisville, Ky., her brother Richard Beam, from Lancaster, PA., her sister Barbara Mudd, from Louisville, Ky., her sister Katie Hall, from Nicholasville, Ky. However, and most sadly,Frances is preceded in death by her two eldest children whom died in their 50’s. Sue Allen Clements died in 2010 at the age of 52 and Frederick Anthony Clements died in 2015 at the age of 59.
Frances is survived by her dearly and beloved husband of 65 years Frederick Anthony Clements. Her surviving children are Michael, Greg, Cheryl, and Patricia. Frances also has one remaining sister Mary Jane Steckbeck. The surviving grandchildren are Justin and Kelby Clements of San Diego, California; Erik Spicer of Clearwater, Florida; and Matthew and Jacob Hayes of Lexington, Ky.

saysFrances was one our volunteers at UKHC for many years with her dear friend Shirley Fuller. They were quite a team on Tuesdays delivering mail and flowers to our patients. Frances was always a bright spot in everyone's day. We looked forward to seeing her each and every week with her bright smile, kind words and warm touch for everyone she met. Such a lovely lady that will be missed by everyone. Thoughts and prayers for her family, Bonnie Thornton

saysPatricia, I am so sorry about the passing of your mom. I did not know as I no longer receive the paper. She and Shirley Fuller were such a pair and were so good to me. I loved waiting on you and your mom at Chico's and spending time with you. This is a huge loss for you and I am so sorry.
