Versie Hughes
Versie Hughes, 104, passed away in North Carolina on July 21, 2020.  She was the daughter of the late Jackson Hughes and Adeline Moore Hughes and was born on November 9, 1915 in Floyd County, Kentucky.  

She worked at the Saratoga Restaurant for many years and was a member of Broadway Christian Church.   Versie loved to sew and travel to visit her family.  Always smiling, she was like a mother to her nieces and nephews.  

She leaves to cherish her memory her nephews and nieces:  Frank Smith, Georgann Sheridan, Dolores Parker, Erwin Daniel, and Kathy Smith. 

A Graveside Service will be observed on Saturday, July 24, 2020 at 10 am at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Lexington where Versie will be laid to rest.

Milward-Broadway is serving the family.

Aunt Versie was loved by all of her family and will be missed. Her stories and her cooking will live on through us. She is preceded in death by her niece and nephews, Dorothy Mae Tipton, Jack Smith, Ronald Smith, and Donald Smith; along with her sisters Della Smith and Grace Daniels all of whom loved her dearly.
