Friday 3rd of November 1939 - Wednesday 29th of July 2020
Nadine Weeks, 80 and widow of Joe Weeks passed away peacefully on July 29, 2020 with her children by her side. She was born to the late John Thomas Lyman and Hazel Horn Lyman on November 3, 1939 in Lexington, Kentucky.
Nadine’s adult life was spent as a full-time homemaker, and what a special home she made. She was a devoted wife, who spent the last fifteen years of Joe’s life being a caregiver, advocate and his complete world during the devastating effects from Alzheimer’s. She was a Mom who made each of her children feel like her favorite, without showing favoritism at all. An Aunt who made any visit seem magical and special. A Sister who was there, who listened and was a friend to each of her siblings. But probably the most cherished job she held, was that of being a Granny and Great-Granny. She loved each and every one to a degree that only a special Granny can give. She would have held on forever if she could have to be there for them and see them grow.
Mrs. Weeks is survived by her three children, Tom Weeks (Jenny), Ray Weeks, and Sheri Werling (Mike); a step-son, Bobby Weeks; five siblings, Walter Lyman, Norman Lyman, Denny Lyman, Faye Lane, and Jonny Lyman; five grandchildren, Christopher Weeks, Kalee Weeks, Cameron Shainfeld, Elise Weeks and Jessica Weeks Ellis; and six great-grandchildren, Kimberly, Andy, Brayan, Micah, Adeline and Will.
In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Joanne Bryant and Kay Christian.
There will be a private service at the Lexington Cemetery.
