Lon Howard Boggs
Monday 25th of February 1946 - Tuesday 17th of November 2020
Lon Howard Boggs, 74, died November 17, 2020. He is survived by his wife Julia Aldridge Boggs, son Nicholas H. (Kylie) Boggs; grandson Hunter Boggs and granddaughter Madilyn Boggs. He is preceded in death by his parents Edward and Maude (Howard) Boggs, brother Phillip Boggs, twin sisters Wilma Bottimore and Thelma Mulligan.
Lon was known by all as a “Good Guy”. He never knew a stranger, was hard working and fun to be around. Lon was originally from in Ohio where he served with the Ohio National Guard and became an Ohio State Buckeyes football fan and a UK Wildcat Basketball fan. Before moving back to Kentucky, he lived 25 years in Florida where he worked as a property manager and enjoyed the ocean and fishing on his boat. Lon was a man of many loves; Julie, Nick, Kylie, Hunter, and Madi made his life complete.
One of his favorite writings is as follows:
Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free I’m following the path God laid for me. I took His hand when I heard Him call; I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day. To laugh, to love, to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way; I’ve now found peace at the close of day. If my parting has left a void, then fill it with remembered joys. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss; yes, these thing, I too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life’s been full, I savored much; good friends, good times, a loved ones touch. Perhaps my time seems all to brief; don’t lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your heart and share with me, God wanted me now-He set me free.
There will be a private gathering at a later date.

Though we are original owners at The Somerset we have never been fortunate enough to come for long stretches, so our friendships have largely been with the management and staff. Our slice of paradise was not always a happy place but when Lon arrived all that changed...with his quiet, pleasant, easy going way he made things happen and the atmosphere cleared! He was approachable, kind & generous and we were lucky to call him a friend. Jan & Tom

Dear Lon and Family, It has saddened me to hear about your passing, we first met when we purchased our condo at the Somerset on Marco Island back in 2013, you welcomed another Canadian to your building. I say your building because you had a love and passion for what you did and the building to managed. Your compassion, and respect for others was always apparent and you always made me feel my voice was important. I believe our time on this earth is much too short but when you open your heart to others your legacy is endless. God bless you and may you rest in peace my dear friend. You will always be in our hearts. Adrian & Grace
RIP my dear friend. You lived life with all that God gave you and lived it well. You knew how to except and give love to your friends and family. You will be missed. My sincere sympathies go out to all his family and friends of which he had many. Julie, remember, Lon will be helping you through life and only wishes you all the best it has to offer. Much love
